Code of Ethics and Conduct

As a practitioner using therapies taught through the Chikly Health Institute, you are expected to administer treatment protocols within your scope of practice, respect the code of ethics of your licensing or certifying body or locale that you practice in, and adhere to the highest professional standards. Among these are the commitment to providing quality therapy, emphasizing the needs of the client to all persons without discrimination, seeking educational opportunities to enhance therapeutic skills, respecting each client's right to privacy, and accepting the responsibility to "do no harm" to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of self, clients, and associates. Additionally, you are expected to uphold and enhance the Chikly Health Institute's reputation.

 Participant

As a participant in educational seminars taught or sponsored by the Chikly Health Institute, you are expected to fully participate, arrive prepared, and conduct yourself in such a way as to personally and professionally benefit while respecting the experience of your peers. Students should use the classroom facility appropriately, limit practice to those therapies presented during scheduled class times, respect the feedback of the person they are practicing with, and be courteous and respectful to seminar staff and other participants.

Participants are expected to take self-responsibility for informing Chikly Health Institute of any personal health issues or pregnancies in advance of class and with the teacher at the beginning of class. This may preclude a student from full participation at the discretion of Chikly Health Institute and/or the teacher.

Learning Outcomes will be assessed at the end of each class. For the live and online classes, it is a manual test demonstrating techniques in front of a teacher, instructor, or teaching assistant.

Participant skills are assessed during the class by the teacher or teaching assistant in order to verify that they meet the requirements for satisfactory completion of a learning activity. If these skills are not satisfactory, the participant may have to retake part or the entire class.

Instructional Methods: Lecture, Keynote/PowerPoint slides, demonstration on a patient/client or participant, practical sessions, study guide, scientific references.

Educational Level: All level 1 classes are introductory (no prerequisite), level 2 classes are intermediate, and level 3 classes are advanced classes.

All classes requiring an introductory class as a prerequisite are intermediate classes.

All classes requiring an intermediate class as a prerequisite are advanced classes.

Teaching Assistant

As a teaching assistant participating in educational seminars taught or sponsored by the Chikly Health Institute, you are expected to adhere to Chikly Health Institute Teaching Assistant guidelines and appropriately and fully support the teacher to enhance the student's learning experience.

 Instructor

A teacher presenting educational seminars taught or sponsored by the Chikly Health Institute is expected to appropriately support the curriculum designed and approved by the Chikly Health Institute. Additionally, they are expected to respect and support the student's learning experience, teaching assistants, and all seminar staff, maintaining clear and professional boundaries while meeting or exceeding all learning objectives. The instructor will always demonstrate high standards of professional conduct and not discriminate against learners on the basis of gender, age, socioeconomic or ethnic background, sexual orientation, or disability.

Except for compensation for presenting, instructors have no relevant financial or non-financial relationships to disclose.

 Certified Practitioners

Certified Practitioners are expected to perform at an exemplary level, not only in therapeutic sessions but to be ambassadors for the Chikly Health Institute and to enhance the professional integrity of the Chikly Health Institute community. The Chikly Health Institute may revoke certification status for a breach of integrity, ethics, or misconduct or for any reason the Chikly Health Institute deems appropriate to dissociate with the student.

We value diversity in our workplace and at our seminars and other events. We do not discriminate based on gender, color, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, pregnancy, covered veteran status, protected genetic information, and political affiliation.

If you feel that your experience during a class did not meet our standards and expectations, and you wish to discuss or remedy the situation, please email us the details of your experience. CHI is not responsible for any lost wages or travel expenses incurred. CHI will try to provide an alternate seminar that will fit your schedule.

 New Editions of Study Guides

The coursework is constantly evolving, resulting in updated versions of Study Guides.

Minimum Pre-requisite for Attendance at Classes - one of the following

Attendees at a US/Canada CHI seminar (except Heart Centered Therapy course) must meet one of the following criteria:

Have a license to touch.

Have a comparable certificate if their state or locale does not require licensure.

Be a student in a healthcare program.

Be a graduate from a healthcare program awaiting licensure or certificate.

**Some rare exceptions exist. Contact the Institute to see if you qualify at 480-999-0808 or email studentservices@chiklyinstitutecom

Please include full name, email address, phone number, and any pertinent information

Course Participation Progression

Many programs are hierarchical in nature, and the student is expected to successfully complete pre-requisites and show a sufficient grasp of the material and skills before attending the next level course in a curriculum. The instructor and/or teaching assistants will assess the student's abilities to effectively demonstrate the techniques taught in the course by checking the hands-on techniques of the students regularly during each day of class and have the authority to determine if a student has successfully completed a class and may continue on to the next level/s of training.

This decision may be due to attendance, behavior, skill level, or a combination. Any decision is made with the student's best interest, their trade partners, and their patients in mind. The instructor or the home office administration will recommend steps that can be taken to be able to demonstrate successful completion of a class, such as repeating that class, repeating that class and/or prior classes, attending study groups, passing a certification exam, personal treatment and/or demonstrating the missing skills on an approved institute representative.

If a student feels they should be allowed to continue in a curriculum after the Instructor and/or Teaching Assistants have recommended otherwise, the student may appeal this decision by contacting the curriculum director.

 Course Completion

Students are expected to attend the entire seminar to receive their certificate of attendance. If unexpected circumstances arise and the course cannot be completed (such as due to illness), the certificate will only be issued after the full class. The letter of attendance, with CEUs and contact hours listed, will be provided for the number of hours the participant was able to complete. The participant will be allowed to attend the portions missed at a later class free of charge or, in some situations, may be allowed to repeat the entire class.

Chikly Alumni / Find a Practitioner  (FAT) Page

Upon successful completion, most CHI classes in the USA and Canada are eligible for listing on the CHI Alumni page ("Find a Practitioner" page).

CHI website may also add your IAHE courses on the CHI Alumni page ("Find a Practitioner" page).

CHI reserves the right not to list course completion if it was not satisfactorily completed or if the student felt they did not get the full value from attending.

Additionally, we strive to achieve and maintain the highest professional, ethical, moral, operational, and educational standards. We take great pride in the quality of our alumni, staff, and instructors. Our reputation and credibility are paramount to everyone's success. Therefore, we reserve the right to disassociate from any individuals we feel would harm these goals and who do not live up to these standards. One potential dissociation step is removing students from all listings on the CHI Alumni page ("Find a Practitioner" page).

Pregnancy

A person may attend a Chikly Health Institute class when they are pregnant. However, there may be certain techniques that are not advisable for a pregnant person to receive. This means that although they can practice the technique, they should not receive it. As such, they may need to bring someone to be their practice "body." This can be someone who is a non-therapist. If an additional "body" is not available, the Teacher should ensure that people rotate partners during the trades.

The Teacher should be made aware of any pregnant students. They will determine at the end of the class if a student needs to repeat the class before moving on to the next level. If the Teacher felt that they were able to give all the techniques, as well as receive a fair amount of techniques, the Teacher can approve the student to move on to the next class. If the student must repeat the class, they may do so for no charge. If the pregnant student prefers to just audit the class (not participate in any of the hands-on work), they may. They will still be required to pay for the audit, but may then fully take the class at another date at no additional charge.

Complaint Resolution

The Chikly Health Institute wishes to provide a comfortable, productive, and ethical learning environment.  To this end, we encourage you to bring any grievances you may have to the attention of the office manager and if necessary upper-level management.  In light of possible concerns, we have implemented the following procedure:

If you feel that there has been inappropriate conduct on the part of the company, management, its employees, vendors, customer’s/students, or any other entity related to the company, we request that you submit your grievance in writing to [email protected].

If you do not receive a sufficient response within 7 business days of your written submission, or you consider your matter to be an emergency, legal, ethical, or safety issue, please also contact us directly by phone to expedite the complaint process.  The company may request a conference with you at that time. If the matter is not resolved after that conference and you still believe it merits attention, it is requested that you immediately place your concerns in writing and bring the matter forward to upper-level management.

It is the purpose of this grievance procedure to ensure a positive learning experience with respect and responsibility towards each other. We will make every effort to address any and all grievances in a timely manner with an acceptable resolution.

 Time Limitations on Claims

 Claims of Intellectual Property Violations

CHI abides by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) by responding to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the DMCA and other applicable laws. In appropriate circumstances and at CHI’s sole discretion, that response may include removing, disabling, and/or terminating access to material residing on the Site that is claimed to be infringing, in which case we will make a good-faith attempt to contact the person who submitted the affected material so that they may make a counter-notification, also in accordance with the DMCA.
